Store your belongings securely with us

UK Storage offer internal self storage rooms meaning your items come out in the same condition they went in. Whether that’s for a fortnight or fourteen years, your goods will be safe with us. Sorry, that even means your partner’s family heirloom you were hoping would be “lost” in the move.

We are based in Barnstaple in North Devon and our building is next to the Premier Inn at Barum Gate. Being at the point where the A361/A39/A377 all converge at Whiddon Valley, it allows great access to the rest of west/north Devon. We’ve found we’re particularly popular with customers from Ilfracombe. Follow our postcode EX32 8QD to get to our front door.

You can start using your storage unit any time of day or night, just fill out your details online and pay for your first four weeks and you could be using your storage within the hour – as long as we have availability. If you are looking further ahead, you can reserve your room so that it’s ready when you are – even if you haven’t got a firm date at this point.

You can access your goods whenever you want with our 24-hour access option or normal seven-day access hours allowing free entry Monday to Sunday. As you hold the only keys to your room, only you can access your goods. Great for last-minute dashes down to storage when the relatives are coming around and expect to see the portrait of the dog they gave you.

We offer a specialised protection plan designed exclusively for self-storage. This enhanced liability protection covers a wider range of risks than a standard household insurance and provides extra security for your valuable belongings should the unexpected occur. Your coverage remains valid while your items are stored inside your designated unit.

Please note: the policy does not cover loading, unloading, or transit periods. As this insurance is separate from your household policy, any claim will not impact your home insurance premium or any no-claims discount you’ve earned.

We work hard to offer you high-quality storage and to make sure your goods are looked after. However, we know everyone is working to a budget, so we monitor prices locally and make sure our prices are competitive. See our Terms and Conditions for our UK Storage Price Promise.

Great access is backed up by a key code entry system, with each customer having their own unique access code. This means we can keep the security doors locked at all times and monitor entries on and off the site. This is also recorded on 24-hour digital CCTV, with cameras throughout the Barnstaple self storage facility, not just outside but also inside the building (an extra expense often dodged by other companies).

The locks are their own kind of wonderful as they are unpickable, we’ve even sent them off to locksmiths to test. They are barrel (or sometimes called cylinder) locks and are imported from the states where they are really popular in the self storage market. They fit in the doors to give the effect of a Yale lock, so there is nothing external to be cut. We’ve done our homework, these are the best types of lock in the business.
