A self-storage facility provides secure storage space for personal and business use. UK Storage Company operates unstaffed self-storage centres across the UK, offering 24/7 access to your belongings with enhanced security. Our business is centrally managed at our Bridgwater Head Office, Somerset.

All our facilities are unstaffed, leveraging advanced technology to offer:

  • 24/7 online booking and account management
  • Secure PIN code access
  • 24/7 digital CCTV surveillance
  • Flexible rental terms starting from just 14 days
  • No deposit required

Our facilities operate without on-site staff. All interactions, from booking to accessing your unit, are managed online or via phone, providing a seamless and contactless experience. Should you require assistance, we are only a phone call away! Our business is centrally managed at our Bridgwater Head Office in Somerset.

Once your booking is finalised, you’ll receive a unique access code for entrance to the facility. You can access your unit seven days a week. For standard opening hours, please review our website. If you need extended or 24-hour access, this can be arranged for a small additional fee.

Security is a top priority at UK Storage Company. Our locations feature 24-hour CCTV surveillance, secure PIN code access, and individually secured units with specialised locks. Customers hold the only keys to their units, ensuring full control and security. Additionally, our facilities are equipped with alarm systems to further protect your belongings. Only registered users with unique access codes are permitted to enter our facilities, providing an extra layer of protection.

No, we do not offer waste disposal services. You are responsible for removing your own waste.

If you require emergency assistance outside of office hours, please contact the emergency number advertised at site, and a member of our extended team will assist you. Please note, if the situation is not deemed to be an emergency, you will be asked to call the following day to speak with a member of our Customer Engagement Team.

Booking is simple! Visit our website, select a location and unit size, choose your rental duration, and complete your payment securely. Once confirmed, you’ll receive your access details via email.

Please note, you must also inform your insurance company that UK Storage Company do not have staff on the premises during opening hours.

A PRIME unit comes with improved access and is generally located on the ground floor or next to a lift if located above ground level.

A STANDARD unit is located on the first floor or above within the site and has an improved unit rental rate compared to a prime unit.

You can reserve a unit up to 12 weeks in advance. This guarantees your space and price quoted. The reservation fee is ÂŁ10, and is applied against your rental charge when you move in. Should you cancel before reservation date, your reservation fee is fully refundable.

Yes, if you have the required ID and there is availability at your chosen site, you can complete the online move-in process and get access straight away. Contact our team on 0330 202 0602 for any assistance.

Our automated ID check process requires a picture of a driver’s licence or passport, as well as a picture of yourself. Should your ID check fail, contact our team on 0330 202 0602 for further assistance.

No, as long as you have completed the online check-in and completed payment for the first month’s storage.

In addition to the above, anyone accessing your unit must be authorised for access on your account.

No, you must sign the contract yourself. However, once you have signed the contract, you can authorize others to access your unit on your behalf.

Standard access hours vary per facility. Please review our website for further information. 24/7 access is available at many locations for an additional fee.

Access hours depend on the location. Many of our unstaffed facilities offer 24/7 or extended access hours, available for a small additional cost. Entry is secure and convenient using your unique access code.

Yes. For safety reasons, at our internal sites we have a maximum permitted vehicle size of 7.5T vehicles.

At our external sites, the maximum permitted size of vehicles is 3.5T and below.

We offer a wide range of unit sizes, from small units to large warehouse-style spaces. Use our online size guide or contact our team for assistance in choosing the right size.

Yes, you can change your unit size at any time, depending on availability. Simply reach out to our Customer Engagement Team when you are on-site ready to transfer, and they’ll be happy to assist you with the process.

No, our standard units are ambient controlled. This helps eliminate the risk of condensation, keeping sensitive items safe.

All units at our Redruth site have an internal heater fitted within the unit to give added protection to your goods.

All our external units are insulated and have an anticondensation roof.

Units above 250 sq. ft. may include lighting. Smaller units can have lighting added at an extra cost. Electricity is not available at any of our sites or units.

No. We provide a secure lock specific to UK Storage. These are an additional one-off cost during booking.

Trolleys are available on-site at any internal facilities to make loading and unloading easier. We also partner with local removal companies if you need professional moving assistance.  Please contact us directly for details.

Currently, we do not offer packing supplies, but we are excited to announce that we will be providing a selection of packing materials, including boxes, bubble wrap, and tape, in the near future. Stay tuned for updates!

You can store household goods, seasonal items, furniture, and personal documents. Prohibited items include:

  • Hazardous materials
  • Perishables (all food and fluids, including water)
  • Firearms and explosives
  • Illegal goods
  • Animals

As per our terms and conditions, it is mandatory for goods stored to be protected.

To meet the requirement for contents protection, we offer StoreProtect, an optional Enhanced Liability Service that provides contents protection for your goods while in storage.

We believe this plan offers the best protection for our customers. You can select StoreProtect during the booking process, with prices quoted separately to rental cost.

Some items are not covered by StoreProtect, have limited protection, or come with an excess amount.

Details of these exclusions can also be found here. If you’re unsure about any items, don’t hesitate to reach out for further assistance.

During your booking, we present typical value of protection aligned with the size of your unit to ensure adequate protection. However, you have the option to reduce or increase the amount of protection required. Please ensure you choose the policy that supports the minimum replacement value for your goods, and review your policy throughout the duration of your storage.

If you choose to source your own third-party contents insurance, we ask that it is submitted at the time of booking, and the policy meets the following criteria:

  • Customer name
  • The name of the insurance company
  • A sum insured that covers the value of the goods being stored (must meet our minimum requirement for your unit size)
  • Start and end dates of cover
  • The UK Storage Company site address as the location
  • The cover provided is equal to or better than the perils included in our own insurance

Additionally, you must inform your insurance company that UK Storage Company does not have staff on the premises during opening hours.

Please submit your policy details during the booking process. If we do not receive your third-party policy, we will automatically add StoreProtect to your account until valid protection is provided. We want to ensure your items are properly protected and safe in case the unexpected happens.

A 14-day cooling off period applies. Payment made against StoreProtect is refundable upon acceptance of a sufficient third-party insurance policy.

We offer flexible terms, allowing you to upsize or downsize your unit as needed, either within a single location or across multiple sites.

Yes. Authorise individual access for multiple user via your mobile app. Alternatively, you can contact us to additional members.

Absolutely. Our flexible terms are designed to accommodate both short-term and long-term storage needs.

Yes, businesses can arrange for deliveries directly into their units, provided the delivery personnel are authorised for entry. You can set up an authorised user through our app or by logging into your online account on our website.  Alternatively, contact our Customer Engagement Team for assistance.

No, storage units are designed solely for storing items. However, some locations offer office rentals. Please check our website for details.

If you require a larger unit than what’s currently available at your chosen site, please contact our Sales Team at enquiries@ukstoragecompany.co.uk, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.   • Reserve your unit: You can reserve your storage unit online or by calling us.
  • Check in online: Complete the check-in process online, including your preferred contents protection plan, and make your first monthly payment before you arrive.
  • ID verification: Download our mobile app to verify your ID. Your access code and unit number will be supplied via email and in the app upon completion.
  • Pack and transport your items: Pack your items securely and bring them to the storage facility.
  • Move your items into your storage unit: Load your items into the storage unit.
  • Lock your unit: Secure your unit with the lock.
  • Access your items: You can access your items anytime during our opening hours. Extended or 24/7 access is available if required for an additional fee.

We require a 14-day notice before vacating your unit. Notices should be submitted online via your account or app. Refunds for unused storage days may apply.

We understand that plans can change, so we ask that you confirm once you have vacated so we can finalise your account.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Clear the Unit: Remove all items and ensure nothing is left behind.
  2. Remove Lock and Keys: Take your lock and keys with you, so that the unit is unlocked and fully accessible.
  3. Notify Us: Please contact us to confirm when you have vacated, we will then finalise your account.

Payments can be made via direct debit, debit/credit card, bank transfer, or through our online portal/mobile app. If you choose to not pay via direct debit or bank transfer, an administrative fee of ÂŁ8 is applicable.

Our storage units are invoiced on a monthly basis, with payments due on the same day of the month your contract commenced. Your payment due date will be clearly stated in our mobile app.

Yes. Auto-billing helps avoid late payments.

Access may be restricted. Contact us promptly for support.

Payment method can be adjusted on our mobile app, or through contacting our Customer Engagement Team. If you choose to not pay via direct debit or bank transfer, an administrative fee of ÂŁ8 is applicable.

No. All charges are clearly shown during booking. Optional extras are listed separately.

Yes, with potential discounts for long-term payment.

We offer seasonal discounts subject to availability, which are detailed on our website. We also offer Blue Light and military discount. For more information, please contact our Customer Engagement Team.

We require two weeks’ notice prior to your vacation, and additional confirmation once you have vacated your storage unit. Refunds may apply for rental paid for but not used.

We understand that plans can change! Fortunately, all contracts are on a rolling monthly basis, meaning you can store for as long as you require. You will be billed monthly until you choose to vacate.

You can update your contact details by logging into your account through our website or mobile app. It is your responsibility to keep your information up to date to ensure we can contact you in case of an emergency and send important communications via email.

We quote our prices per week so you can easily compare them with other storage providers; this is the most common format used in the industry.

However, payments are taken monthly to help with budgeting, as most people manage their finances on a month-by-month basis.

To estimate your monthly storage cost, simply multiply the weekly price by 4.345 (the average number of weeks in a month) and round to the nearest 10p.

For example, if your weekly rate is ÂŁ20:
£20 × 4.345 = £86.90 per month (rounded to the nearest 10p).

Please note: this figure only covers the cost of the storage unit rental. Contents protection is an additional charge and depends on the value you place on your stored items. You’ll be guided through this during the booking process.

Yes, you can arrange a visit by calling your chosen location during office opening hours. As our facilities are unstaffed, site tours take place over the phone with one of our Customer Engagement Executives. We’d kindly ask that you arrive at least an hour before closing so we can provide you with the best possible experience and take the time to show you around.

No, sleeping or living in storage rooms is strictly prohibited and will result in a breach of contract.

No, but storing items in boxes helps maximize space and protect your belongings.

We use specialised locks that are designed for use at our UK Storage Company sites. Unfortunately, customers are unable to use their own lock and keys.

Instructions on obtaining your lock will be provided upon completion of your ID check.

We are happy to provide you with a PRIME unit on the ground floor for the cost of a STANDARD unit (subject to availability). Please contact our Customer Engagement Team if you require this accommodation.

In case of an emergency, please dial 999 if there is a fire or a suspected break-in.

Additionally, contact our emergency number at 01278 269964 for further assistance.

None of our units have electricity, and this service cannot be provided. Units cannot have phone lines, and Wi-Fi isn’t currently available but may be available in the future.

Many of our rooms 250sqft and above have lighting present within the unit itself.

Rooms below 250sqft with no lighting fitted can have lighting installed at an agreed cost and on a case-by-case basis if essential.

All of our sites have adequate hallway and external lighting.

Many of our units above 250sqft have double doors in place to aid with easier access when loading and unloading.

Units below 250sqft have a single door fitted, except for a handful of units at selected sites.

If you lose your keys, we can arrange for a UK Storage-approved locksmith to assist you in gaining access to your unit.

Please contact our Customer Engagement Team, who will be happy to help coordinate this for you.

Please note that locksmith services will incur a charge.
