Here at UK Storage Company, security is a very high priority. All locations have state of the art CCTV, which is in operation 24 hours a day. Access to all of our locations is via a secure PIN code which operates the gate and/or the security door(s).

All storage units are secured using brand new, highly specialised locks, and the customer is the sole key holder. Locks come with three keys.

All locations that are within a building have fire and smoke alarm systems throughout.

You can move to a larger or smaller storage unit without penalty and start paying the new rate straight away – as long as we have availability of course. Just call us and we can advise which units are available and what the current price is. Alternatively send an email and we'll be happy to work that way.

We don't require any notice when you need to rent a storage unit from us (but it's always best to contact us first to make sure that we have the space available). You can reserve a unit in advance, and your chosen start date is flexible, should your plans change.

When you no longer require your storage unit, we ask for just 14 days notice.

You can stay short or long term. From a minimum of fourteen days or as long as you want – provided you keep paying of course!

You pay four weeks in advance and every four weeks (28 days) after that. Your initial payment needs to be by credit/debit card, or with a bank transfer. After that you can pay by direct debit, there is also a card option. Unfortunately we no longer accept cheques or cash.

If you've found the small white box in your room but you haven't managed to work the lock, then this video should help. Please note the lock can also go in upside down so it might be worth checking that too if you are having problems.

Yes, you sure can. You can also choose a day of the month that you would prefer to pay. Please call a member of our team on 0330 2020602 or email us on [email protected],  and we can help you with that.

StoreProtect Information:

At UK Storage Company we understand the importance of the items you store with us. All our locations are built with security in mind, and every measure has been taken to protect your goods while they are with us. Unfortunately, some scenarios may arise that we simply cannot anticipate, such as a fire or a flood. For this reason, we need to be absolutely certain that all goods are protected whilst in store with us. We will not allow a customer to store goods that are not protected under our StoreProtect arrangement or under your own insurance arrangements.

How can I protect my goods?

For complete peace of mind, UK Storage Company agrees to offer protection for your goods under StoreProtect, an enhanced liability arrangement with the industry specialist brokers, Basil Fry & Co.  This arrangement is designed specifically for the needs of self-storage customers and means that we agree to accept liability for any damage that may occur while you store with us. Protection is arranged following your agreement of our terms and conditions and payment of our StoreProtect service charges and will be in place for the entirety of your storage term. Unlike household or commercial policies there is no excess in the event of any claim and by using StoreProtect in the unlikely event of a claim at our sites, your future premiums will not be affected and any no claims discount will be unaffected as we take on the risk.

What protection does StoreProtect provide?

Under StoreProtect we agree to accept liability up the Maximum Replacement Value you declare for  any loss or damage that occurs (in accordance with the StoreProtect Addendum) which could include actual physical loss of or damage to our customers property caused by incidents such as Fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake, storm, flood, bursting &/or leaking pipes, ingress of water or other liquid substance, aircraft or articles dropped there from, theft accompanied by forcible and violent entry to or exit from the building or unit, riot, strike, civil commotion, malicious damage and impact by vehicles or railway rolling stock.

How do I calculate my Maximum Replacement Value of my goods?

We must understand the total value of all goods stored with us. It is, therefore, a requirement for all customers to declare a suitable Maximum Replacement Value and to ensure it remains adequate for the storage period.

Your Maximum Replacement Value must represent the total current cost of replacing all stored property as new, except the following items where the replacement cost is calculated differently:

• household linen and clothing, motorcars, motorbikes, boats, caravans, motorhomes and any other motorised vehicle, where the Replacement Value allows for the age, quality, degree of use, existing damage and consequent market value;

• any goods which cannot be purchased new (such as antiques or works of art, for example), where the replacement value shall be the current market value; and

• documents, where the Replacement Value shall be calculated as the physical cost of replacing the documents and/or cost of reprinting, re-issue and/or reconstitution, but excluding the value of the information contained in the documents

Why it is so important to declare the most accurate Maximum Replacement Value?

If the Maximum Replacement Value you provide is less than the actual total Replacement Value of all of your property stored at the time of loss or damage, then our liability under StoreProtect will be reduced to reflect the proportion that your Maximum Replacement Value bears to the actual total Replacement Value ("Proportional Reduction").

For example: if the total replacement value of your property is £10,000, but you have declared a Maximum Replacement Value of £5,000, our liability will be reduced by 50%. So, if £3,000 worth of Your Property is lost or damaged, our liability would be £1,500.

You can cancel a reservation at any time prior to the date of move in. Any reservation fee will be refunded back to the credit or debit card it was originally paid on.

Any refund can take up to 10 working days to appear in your account. UK Storage Company are unable to refund on to a card other than the credit or debit card that was originally used. UK Storage Company do not store any card details. Where this agreement has terminated and you have paid more of our fees and charges than are due at the termination date, we will refund the balance to you after deduction of any payments due to us. The rental portion of our fees will be refunded to you, less any charges. Refunds in this instance will be made on to the same card that payments had been made from, or if payments are made via Direct Debit, refunds will be made via Direct Credit in to the same bank account. Direct Credits and card refunds can take up to 10 working days to be made.
